This position involves troubleshooting and repairing all components of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems and equipment such as screw and reciprocating compressors, evaporators, condensers, valves, motors, pumps, and associated control/alarm systems.

This position is responsible for the development of new construction project accounts and the continuing coordination of projects with existing clientele. The prospective candidate will develop project scope, perform preliminary engineering, estimate project cost and assemble proposal documents and presentation. You should be knowledgeable in all aspects of refrigeration system design and construction. We prefer someone with a background in the industrial market but will consider training a person knowledgeable of commercial refrigeration who possesses the desire to move into industrial refrigeration.

The position offers a commission with base salary compensation package with medical benefits, 401K program and paid holidays and vacations.

Install industrial refrigeration systems at various locations around the country. Applicant must be experienced in installation of large industrial refrigeration systems. Possess the ability to layout piping systems from drawing documents and flow diagrams generated by the RD&S engineering department per IIAR piping standards. Effectively manage other pipe fitters and welders on the crew to install components and piping system within project budget.

Essential abilities and duties

• Understand and properly interpret flow diagrams and layout drawings.
• Complete material take-off and place order with proper vendors.
• Coordinates work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project.
• Ability to properly fit up refrigeration, water and glycol pipe.
• Working knowledge of computer software, including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, Email, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD.
• Understand all weld procedures used by RD&S and perform visual quality checks throughout the installation of the system.
• Complete daily/weekly work logs.
• Report and resolve discrepancies in the drawings to RD&S engineering department and Director of Construction.
• Supervise construction crew and sub-contractors for efficient installation of each project.
• Ensure all material specifications for equipment, pipe and other materials are being followed.
• Ability to visualize final pipe path and layout accordingly per IIAR pipe standards.
• Complete as-built drawings on a daily basis and submit final as-builts to engineering.
• Must travel as required and stay out of town on a job up to 10 days, occasionally longer.
• Attend all company sponsored functions.
• Attend company sponsored training as required.
• Ensure all RD&S, OSHA and client safety protocols are followed at all times.
• Attend safety and construction meetings.
• Reports to Director of Construction.
